Pisces and the Third Eye Chakra


At the heart of Pisces energy is the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna), located at the center of the forehead, between the eyebrows. This chakra governs our intuition, inner vision, and connection to higher consciousness. When our Third Eye is open and balanced, we experience clarity, deep insight, and trust in the unseen. When blocked, we may feel disconnected from our inner wisdom, overly skeptical, or clouded by illusion.


Pisces season is the perfect time to nurture and activate this chakra, helping us tap into deeper awareness and intuitive understanding.


Yoga Poses to Awaken the Third Eye Chakra


Here are three yoga poses that align with Pisces energy and support Third Eye Chakra activation:


Dolphin Pose

(Ardha Pincha Mayurasana)



A powerful inversion that encourages introspection and enhances mental clarity.

  1. Begin in a tabletop position and lower your forearms to the mat, keeping elbows aligned with your shoulders.

  2. Tuck your toes and lift your pelvis and hips toward the sky, forming an inverted V-shape keeping knees bent.

  3. Press your forearms into the ground lifting your shoulders away from your elbows. Begin to widen your shoulder blades away from the spine and draw them towards your tailbone. As you begin to straighten the legs, lift the hips towards the sky maintaining an inverted V making sure to distribute the weight evenly between your elbows and feet.

  4. Allow your head to relax between your forearms, with gaze towards your feet. Close your eyes bringing awareness to the space between your eyebrows.

  5. Breathe deeply for 5–8 breaths, feeling the energy of the Third Eye awaken.


Half Moon Pose

(Ardha Chandrasana)



A balancing pose that embodies fluidity and expansion, encouraging intuitive movement.

  1. From Triangle pose with right leg forward, place your left hand on your hip.

  2. Bend your front leg shifting your weight onto your front foot and place your right hand on the ground (or a block) directly under your shoulder.

  3. Lift your back leg parallel to the floor, foot flexed.

  4. Turn your chest towards the left, twisting your torso and hips. Extend your left arm toward the sky.

  5. Keep your gaze soft and, if comfortable, shift your focus straight out to the side or upward towards your thumb. Close your eyes to enhance inner awareness.

  6. Hold for 5 breaths, feeling the fluidity of Pisces energy guiding you.


Legs Up the Wall

(Viparita Karani)



A deeply restorative pose that allows for surrender, relaxation, and introspection.

  1. Sit sideways next to a wall and swing your legs up as you lower your back onto the floor.

  2. Rest your arms by your sides or above your head, palms facing up.

  3. Close your eyes and focus on slow, steady breaths, visualizing a deep indigo light radiating at your Third Eye.

  4. Stay for 5–10 minutes, letting go of tension and allowing insight to arise.


Embracing Pisces Energy


Pisces season is an invitation to trust, surrender, and believe in the unseen forces guiding our journey. By aligning with the Third Eye Chakra and practicing these intuitive yoga poses, we can cultivate deeper awareness, clarity, and connection.
