Danielle McGarthwaite
Guide
Danielle’s journey with yoga began as a way to quiet the mind and ease the transition into a new life chapter as an empty nester. Initially drawn to yoga as a tool for managing anxiety, she quickly discovered that it was much more than physical movement—it was a practice of deep self-awareness, balance, and inner clarity. This realization sparked her desire to explore yoga beyond the mat, leading her to immerse herself in study and practice.
Now, Danielle finds purpose in sharing yoga with others. Teaching allows her to deepen her own understanding of yoga while holding space for students to turn inward and connect with themselves. She specializes in Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Yin, and Gentle Yoga, as well as Thai Bodywork, blending mindful movement and therapeutic touch to cultivate profound relaxation and healing.
Her extensive training includes a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Thai Yoga Bodywork Training, and Reiki Level 2 certification through Devanadi School of Yoga & Wellness. She has also studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater and trained in Thai Bodywork and Tok Sen at Boonthumme Thai Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Danielle is currently completing her Transformational Sleep Yoga Nidra Teacher Training as well as her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training.
Danielle is the owner of Birdsong Wellness & Yoga, LLC.
